To our friends and partners, Greetings!
We are sincerely grateful for your continued support to our programs. The renewals of those on our Education Angels program has been amazing! I want also to thank those who have consistently given to our holiday and summer fund drives. Together we have sustained the support for needy children and ensured they have an education and basic provisions, good infrastructure development, including meeting our staff and administrative costs. We owe it all to your selfless love!
Yours Sincerely,
Leonard Muyelele
Executive Director, Star of Hope Centre, Bungoma
Without the resources your support provides to Star of Hope, can you imagine what would have become of Rose and her children? You make a lot more than a “simple” education possible. Thank you!
Rose, in her new job as cleaner at Star of Hope, says, “I am eternally grateful to Mr. Leonard and the donors who support his programs at Star of Hope!
We love Horace Mann Elementary School in Redmond, Washington! Each year the kids of Horace Mann put on a “Valentine’s Day Post Office” where they sell hand-made valentines to benefit a charity. Since 2018 that charity has been Star of Hope.
Horace Mann’s fabulous librarian Shannon Leonard spearheads the fund drive, and writes, “We are so excited to announce we were able to raise a total of $5,426.22 in donations for The Star of Hope Centre. We are blown away by the generosity of our families here at Horace Mann and so proud of our students for joining our efforts to help the students at The Star of Hope Centre!”
And WE are blown away by the tremendous generosity of these fabulous kids!
If YOU know a school who would like to connect with Star of Hope, please let us know.

Three months ago Rose Nanduto's situation could not have been more dire. In early January a good Samaritan, knowing about the good work done at Star of Hope, took Rose to Executive Director Leonard Muyelele for help. Both she and her 15-month-old baby, Joel, were sick with high fevers. Her other two children, Samuel, 6, and Maureen, 5, were in rags and hungry.
Rose explained to Leonard that when she was 3 months pregnant with her youngest, her husband left as usual in the morning to seek day work and never came back. What became of him is a mystery.
For a year and a half she had struggled to care for her children by doing odd jobs. On days she failed to find work she would beg for food. Then she and the baby got sick.
Star of Hope turned out to be the perfect place for Rose! Leonard offered her a job as a cleaner and that morning she and the baby were treated at the Star of Hope Clinic. Now she has a fulfilling and necessary job, the two older kids go to school, and they are all fed at Star of Hope!
